CATEA Attends Abilities Expo

On November 6-8, 2009, faculty and staff of the Center for Assistive Technology and Environmental Access (CATEA) operated an exhibit space at the Abilities Expo at the Cobb Galleria Convention Center in Atlanta, Georgia. Abilities Expo is an event where people with disabilities and their families, caregivers and healthcare professionals gain knowledge and empowerment. The Abilities Expo has been around for over 30 years and has been helping people receive education and view the latest, life-altering technologies, products and services.

Two CATEA employees demonstrate the modified wiimote project that enables people with dexterity disabilities to play the Wii.

Many of CATEA‘s cutting-edge technologies, training programs, and educational projects were on display, including the Adapted Wii game system, the Accessible Aquarium Project, and a Wound Measurement Device. CATEA also enlightened visitors about our educational web sites, including Assistivetech.net, the ATWiki, ScitrainU and the CCN.
