Conversion Estimates for Video

Listed below are time estimates for the major tasks involved in converting an existing non-accessible video file into an accessible, captioned video.

• Creating a transcript: 1 hour per minute of video.
• Adding captions in MAGPie: The length of the video clip.
• Adding captions in Windows Media Producer: 1 hour per minute of video.
• Finishing touches (getting captions lined up exactly, etc.): 1 minute per minute of video.
• Segmenting: 2 hours per minute of video.
• Media generation (making final product): 1/2 the time of the video length.
