Overview

Macromedia Flash software is becoming more widely used in many different commercial and educational environments to create web pages, animations, and movies. Earlier versions of Flash were almost completely inaccessible for people with disabilities. However, the new Flash MX Professional 2004 system and the new Flash 6 Player have been updated for accessibility. With a little work, and a little practice, developers can create accessible Flash presentations.

This module will discuss the issues that individuals with disabilities have with Flash and introduce you to the new accessibility features in Flash MX. You will be provided with tools, tips and design to help you create accessible Flash presentations that are more usable for everyone. The process of how to integrate Flash into course management systems, such as Blackboard and WebCT will also be discussed.
