Files You Need for Module 7
Version Information
Module 7 applies to Excel 2007, but the lessons learned here are easily transferred to earlier versions. Resultant web pages will be demonstrated in Internet Explorer
and Mozilla; any important differences will be discussed.
Windows Lab Files
Note: The files in this lab were prepared in an older version of Excel. If you are opening them in more recent versions, they will open in "Compatibility Mode." Please ignore this and continue with the lab.
The compressed file below contains all of the materials required for a Windows
user to complete the interactive labs found within Module 7.
To Download the Windows files
- Save the Windows
Zip File
- When prompted, select "Save As" and save the file to your desktop.
Note: When the file is opened, these materials
will automatically extract into a folder called "mod7lab" on your
hard drive.
Macintosh Lab Files
The compressed file below contains all of the materials required for a Macintosh
user to complete the interactive labs found within Module 7.
To Download the Macintosh files
- Save the Macintosh
Stuffit File
- The file will save to your desktop.
Note: After being downloaded, these materials
will automatically extract into a folder called "mod7lab".

You should download the Sample
Excel spreadsheet(

Lab Overview
Throughout this module, you will use a sample document that incorporates various
common elements found in Excel documents. The sample document is three pages
in length and includes the following elements:
- Several paragraphs of "plain" text embedded into the spreadsheet
- Data tables
- Layout tables of text (used as a calendar)
- Formulas
- Graphs
- Line graphs
- Pie graphs
- Bar graphs
- Hyperlinks
- Images
